Wictor Chrzanowski from Miss Burke's 2nd class entered a competition in Carlow in November. He was picked from his class in Polish school to enter. He read a poem called 'Kwoka' and secured 2nd place in his age category. He won an amazing Samsung Galaxy Ace 6 tablet. Well done Wictor.
On 30 November, the two 2nd classes went on a bus to a Faith Friends Retreat in the High School. Firstly, we met some girls from the Presentation and they brought us to our rooms. We were split into groups of 4 and 5. Miss Murphy and Mrs Bradshaw were our leaders. We had two Faith Friends in each group. They were really nice to us.
After that, we did a friends worksheet. We had to draw pictures of our friends. We had to say whether the pictures were happy or sad. It was then time to have a break. After that, we got a tour of the school and we got to play outside.
After break, we watched the play that the friends made up for us. When they finished, we had to act it out.
After that, we ripped pieces of paper out of magazines and stuck them onto pictures that the Faith Friends drew for us. We created collages with them. The pictures were all to do with friendship. Then we did another worksheet and we sang a song for them to say thank you.
It was time to go back to school but, before we left, we were given a certificate for being so good. Our teachers, Mrs Scanlon and Miss Burke were given boxes of Celebrations to share with the class. Then we went back on the bus. We had great fun. Thank you so much to Mrs Murphy and Mrs Bradshaw and all of the faith friends.
