5th May

Hi all,

I decided to do a clean up of my webpage, and I will try to have all updates from the top in future - rather than having to scroll down every day.

Any work that you have missed out on will remain in my padlet!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and enjoyed that fantastic weather!!

Remember, any work I outline is suggested work - just do what you can!

Work for today

1. This week's Spellbound: pg 58 and 59

2. Table Toppers: -11 pg 55 and 56. -11 is like -10, but minusing one more. Or just minus one from the units. 18-11=7

3. In the padlet link:    https://padlet.com/eimearhowley/xgelb0inngrn9hwh

a) News to be completed - Sequence what you did on two days over the weekend (pick from Sat / Sun / Monday). Use "then" words to start each sentence. I have also included a sheet outlining other "then" words that could be used, and showing how to make sentences longer. At least 4 sentences for each day.

b) Reading: Jessie the Rabbit. Read up to pg 10 for today. Before reading, write out and discuss with your child the following words: admired, startled, cautious, frolicking, trampling, supplies. Make sure to ask questions before, during and after reading up to pg 10.

c) Mental maths sheet from our "Master your Maths" book. Children can write down the answers 1-12 on a sheet of paper

d) Maths sheet - using the 100 square to help fill in blank squares

e) Religion - Explain to your child that May is "Mary's month", and discuss with your child what they already know about Mary, the mother of Jesus. Watch the powerpoint. Make a may altar with your child (candle / vase with flowers etc). Colour the picture of Mary (or your child can draw her if you don't have a printer), and stick the picture on the altar. Pray the "Hail Mary" to Mary.

f) History - Video of farming the past.  Watch this video and try and explain what types of things the farmer is doing. Discuss how we farm differently nowadays.

g) Guidelines on how to access school books online. Since the government's announcement, it is clear we won't be returning to school until the next school year. Because of this, I have included a document on how to access some of your child's textbooks online. Please note - you do not need to access these books if you don't wish to; all the work I am putting on padlet is covering the first class curriculum and is based on work from these books. I am presenting the work in padlet in a more accessible / homeschool friendly way. However, if you wish to access these books to do some revision and do more practise on certain topics you are more than welcome, and I will correct any extra work covered.

You are welcome to send me completed work through my work email - eimearhowley4@gmail.com :)
