Update Thursday 4th June

I hope that you all are having a good week. I know that lots of you have been learning so many new skills like gardening, growing fruit and vegetables, cooking and baking and you’ve also been helping out at home. You’ve been designing and making things and have been so creative. I know that some of you are lucky enough to live near the River Suir and have been keeping active and cycling and walking. Lots of you have been enjoying the outdoors and soaking up the lovely sights and sounds of nature. We learn so much from nature. Seán in our class lives near the Anner river and he has sent me some amazing photos of a swan and her cygnets. He has been keeping a close eye on them as they have made the Anner their home. Have a look at the beauty of nature. It’s good to know there’s life in lockdown!

Tuesday 2nd June to  Friday 5th June

Hello everyone,

I hope that you all enjoyed the fabulous sunshine over the bank holiday weekend. Milo, I hope had a lovely birthday on Saturday. June is a great month in school when you get to play on the grass during break and lunch time, we go on our school tour and of course the all important annual sports day which we all love. Although these things may not happen this year in the way we are used to, we can still find ways to make the most of the outdoors and have great fun. When normality returns, we can all look forward to doing all the lovely activities we miss so much.

Well done for all your hard work so far. I know it has been very difficult for you but you’ve done really well. June is a time for relaxing and there are so many opportunities for you to learn outdoors and have adventures when the weather is good. It’s still really important that you continue to do a little bit of reading each day and practise your tables. I know that there’s nothing as good as a real school tour but I’ve included lots of virtual tours for you to go on this week and some video clips. I really hope you enjoy them. You might start making plans for what you’d like to do and where you’d like to go when it’s easier to get around.

Have a lovely week,

Ms.O’Mahony
