Transition Year Work Experience

In Powerstown School, we recognise that transition year provides valuable work experience opportunities to students. We seek to cater for a maximum of six transition students in any school year. Places are offered on a first come, first served basis to past pupils only.

Sgnificant changes have been introduced through legislation. These affect our transition year work experiences. Responsibility is placed on the Transition Year student to satisfy the Vetting Requirements. If the requirements are not met, the offer of a placement will be rescinded.

  • The student must be aged 16 or over.
  • The student must have completed Garda Vetting through their secondary school before commencement of the placement.
  • The student's secondary school must have entered a Joint Agreement with Powerstown NS for the placement.
  • The student must complete a Statutory Declaration and provide the original of this to Powerstown School.
  • A copy of the Vetting Disclosure must be provided to Powerstown School.

The Secondary School Transition Year Coordinator should be able to assist the student with this information.
